How to come up with a company T-shirt?

You can blaze your own trail of corporate t-shirts or read our article and save your time. We’ve been through this process, too, and we're happy to share our experiences.

Tt’s  the promotional T-shirt again

One of the most popular corporate and promotional gifts is the t-shirt. At the same time, it is one of the most complex promotional items, the production of which is associated with many pitfalls. We had one such t-shirt marathon and the production of its packaging. We have some tips for you on how to make the most of your promotional t-shirt and the production of the packaging.

Wash it out

There are many manufacturers, textile materials and printing types on the market. If you are seeking a corporate t-shirt for your employees and customers, you will have to choose the right quality/price ratio, but also the right packaging. Don’t just settle for an available offer. Have samples of t-shirts sent to you, ideally directly printed with your graphics. Then, test the quality yourself by wearing it and especially by washing it. The point is that the t-shirt should be pleasant to wear and the colours, shape and print should not change with washing. The longer a t-shirt lasts, the longer it will serve for your advertising.

Nobody wants to wear a brand

The graphics on the t-shirt decide whether the t-shirt will “live” or just sit in the closet. This is a conundrum that you have to be smart to solve. You want the t-shirt to represent your company, but people usually don’t like to wear someone else's brand. Especially when the logo is very dominant, complete with an anniversary number or year. Just like our printing company POINT CZ is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year, many Czech companies founded after the fall of communism are also celebrating their anniversaries nowadays. However, these dates are not the most suitable for a t-shirt, as they are subject to ageing.

Graphics = The Clever Lass

What kind of graphics are good for a t-shirt? We recommend not pushing your brand too directly. Instead, choose more sophisticated approaches. Use only a part of the identity for graphics, colour, typology or incorporate it into the text. Place the logo somewhere on the side, on the back, near the seam. Inquiring eyes will always find it. How did we do it? It took us a few weeks to choose from nearly twenty-five designs. The winner was the one that offered a secondary meaning and a copywriting joke in conjunction with the name of our printing company, POINT.

The packaging will help you enough

If the graphic on the t-shirt plays a major role, the t-shirt packaging is what people will see even before that. So take advantage of the packaging to increase the value of the t-shirt. Simply, combine the graphic on the packaging with the graphic on the t-shirt. Think about the environment and forget about plastic bags. Paper packaging will serve you better, and you will still get eco credit. You can print the packaging and convey other messages with it. We recommend that you take care to design the packaging and don’t be afraid of creativity. A paper box doesn't have to be just a box.
