When it comes to packaging production, quality and safety are not just marketing buzzwords, they are legal requirements, especially in highly regulated industries such as medicine, food, and pharmaceuticals. Add to that the ever-expanding product range, and the demand for high-quality packaging production becomes crystal clear.

In April 2025, we upgraded our production line with the powerful BOBST Expertfold 80 folder-gluer, equipped with the integrated AccuCheck module. This system enables automated 100% inline quality inspection in real time, minimizing human error. The line also includes the AccuBraille module for precise Braille embossing.

How does AccuCheck work?

One of the biggest advantages of the AccuCheck module is optical inspection against reference PDF files. The machine compares each produced package to the original print data and evaluates deviations in real time. This enables us to detect:

• Incomplete printing
• Graphic inconsistencies
• Missing elements (text, barcodes)
• Defects caused by varnish or light reflection

Error Detection

The system not only detects errors, but also generates detailed error logs and reports that can be shared with the customer. In case of a complaint, we can accurately trace when and on which machine the error occurred, thanks to hidden identification markers inside the glued section of the paper packaging.

What is Traceability?

Traceability in paper packaging production means the ability to track the entire history of a product or its components throughout the manufacturing process. In practice, this means we know:

• What material the packaging was made from (e.g., paper batch)
• On which machine and at what time the packaging was produced
• Which operator ran the machine
• What settings were applied
• What errors were recorded by the AccuCheck system
